Birgitta Jonsdottir is a poet, activist and member of Icelandic Parliament. She is considered a hero and role model by many across the world for playing a key part in the Icelandic Revolution in which the tax payers did not bail out the "banksters" in the 2007-08 economic crisis. She was a member of WikiLeaks for a short while after they exposed the bankers who caused the financial collapse. With WikiLeaks she helped expose war crimes with the film Collateral Murder and she defends Chelsea Manning's freedom. She is passionate about privacy and transparency issues on the internet and was a plaintiff in the Hedges Vs Obama court case regarding the NDAA with: Chris Hedges, Danielle Ellsberg, Noam Chomsky, Cornel West, Jennifer Bolen, Kai Wargalla and Alexa O' Brien. Birgitta is a member of the newly formed Pirate Party in Icelandic Parliament, which has gained support by many as a third party. She is interested in circular political involvement that rotates leadership and engages the community. She is considered a "hacker" in parliament and is there so she can help the Icelandic society gain a new constitution which reflects their needs that aren't based on old colonialism.
