Earl Antoine Boykins was born on June 2, 1976 in Cleveland, Ohio. Earl Boykins has been in 276 NBA games with New Jersey, Cleveland, Orlando, L.A. Clippers, Golden State and Denver. Earl Boykins stands a measly five feet, five inches, the second shortest player in NBA history behind five foot three inch Muggsy Bogues. Before joining the NBA, Earl played two seasons in the Continental Basketball Association. Since then he has been on six NBA teams. Currently, he plays point guard for the Denver Nuggets.

In college, Earl Boykins played at Eastern Michigan University from 1995 to 1998. There, he earned All-Mid-American Conference first team honors during his junior and senior year, a great accomplishment because he was up against as many as twelve people on the team. Earl Boykins has also set career records for assists at Eastern Michigan University.

Ever since he was a baby he has been small, but even with the vertical challenge he has proved many people wrong and made it to the NBA. Not many people can say they played in the NBA at five foot five inches. He's been traded many times but now he has a guaranteed contract with Denver. He is obviously not going to be the best on the team but he is the energy of the team because when he gets off the bench all he does is run. If you think his sprint is fast, you should see how fast he can shoot the ball. He can shoot over any defender's head without getting blocked. With such a clutch and quick release of the basketball he has set an NBA record of 15 points in overtime. On defense, many people suggested that Earl Boykins would have extreme problems because he would only be able to defend someone his height. Those people were wrong because with zone defense he never has to defend a taller player alone.

I believe Earl Boykins is the hardest working NBA player today. He works the hardest because his limited height makes him work twice as hard as any regular NBA player.
