My dad, Brian, is who my hero is. He grew up in Pennsylvania and has 2 brothers and one sister. My dad is my hero because he works multiple jobs to make enough money for our family, he writes about how to make the world a better place, and he volunteers a lot.
One reason my dad is my hero is that he works really hard with multiple jobs to be able to make enough money. He is an editor and a writer for the Forest Service, edits reports for people in China, and he is a freelance writer. He works from 7 am to 6 pm, which is a very long and tiresome day for my dad. Most of the time, he has so much work that he has to work on Saturdays and Sundays as well. I am very proud of him because he works so hard.
Another reason my dad is a hero is that he writes about things to make the world a better place. For example, he once wrote an article about gun violence to help a neighborhood that was struggling with that topic because they had so many people who had guns that were being used to do illegal things. So, my dad wrote an article to raise awareness, and by doing so, he could have saved somebody’s life.
Lastly, my dad is a hero because he volunteers to help make people happy. Every year he bakes cookies for people in nursing homes for Christmas and goes to visit them so they don’t feel so sad. He also drives them to events, to the store, or wherever they need to go because they are too old to drive themselves.
I think my dad is a hero in a lot of ways that people don’t usually notice. By doing extra work for our family, writing to help the world, and just helping those who need it. You can tell that you don’t have to do something big to change the world. And that is why my dad is truly a hero.
