Nationality: Guinean, born in Kouroussa, High-Guinea, born in 01/01/1928, died in Dakar on 04/02/1980. He is a Guinean writer of French expression. After studying at the French school, Camara Laye leaves for Conakry. Holder of a CAP mechanic, he tries, without success, to become an engineer in France. It was then that Camara Laye, who went through a period of disarray, published: The African Child, his first novel in 1953 and, a year later, The King's Gaze 1954, The Master of the Word 1970, The Guardian of the Word, 1980.

His first novel African Child really inspired me.
