Is it superpowers? Is it being famous? No. A true hero is someone who devotes their time and money into doing something for others.This is why Elon Musk is a true hero. Elon Musk was born in Pretoria, South Africa. Later, he moved to California to be a part of the internet business. He eventually founded the website x.com, which later merged with PayPal. PayPal was acquired by eBay in one of the largest cash deals of that time. He then went on to become the CEO of Tesla and founded SpaceX and SolarCity. Even though he faced many obstacles with Tesla and SpaceX, he did not give up on his goals. A true hero is someone who does things to help others, and sticks to their goals.

He had problems with his falcon 1 rocket when, “Delays in design and testing ... meant that Musk was unable to do test launches of the rocket needed to power the Falcon until 2006--years after his original scheduled launch”(Elon Musk Biography). However he did not give up on his plans. Instead he continued to spend time and money on his plans, until eventually he succeeded. In September of 2008, “The Falcon 1 finally went into orbit … marking the first time a privately developed liquid-fuel rocket orbited Earth”(Elon Musk Biography). Instead of giving up on his plans, Elon Musk showed perseverance and, eventually achieved his goal.

He spends time and money to improve the lives of the general public. For example, “… in January 2017 Elon Musk suddenly decided he was going find a way to reduce traffic by devoting resources to boring and building tunnels”(Elon Musk Biography). He strives to make the world a better, more convenient place. He even dropped out of college to start a company. He told interviewers, "I believed the Internet would dramatically change the future of humanity in a very positive way. I wanted to be a part of that"(Executive Q&A). He founded one of the first online banking companies, making the lives of many people much easier.

Elon Musk has many heroic qualities and can be considered a true hero. He never lost sight of his goals, and always strived to help others. He strives to make the world a better place with his Boring company while he reaches for the stars with SpaceX. He always overcomes obstacles and perseveres. This is why Elon Musk is a true hero.
