by nicole and dylan from fernandina beach

Elton Hercules John was born Regald Kenneth Dwight in Pinner, England on March 25, 1947.

Years went by, and Elton became an international phenomenon, creating some very famous songs like Rocket Man, Daniel, Crocodile Rock, Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me, Philadelphia Freedom, Tiny Dancer, Bennie And The Jets, Candle In The Wind, Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy, Don't Go Breaking My Heart, Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Your Song and many others.

Elton soon recieved the ultimate honor in England. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1997. Elton worked on yet another movie in 1998, The Road To ElDorado. The hit from this movie was Someday Out Of The Blue, which reached the Top 20. Elton again teamed with Tim to write music for a remake of Verdi's Aida. Twenty five new songs were introduced in this Broadway play. Today, Elton John is still making music.

John founded the Elton John Aids Foundation, a program that raises money to help people all over the world with AIDS. He is my hero because he is a very noble and charitable man, and his generosity is more than most people could ever imagine.
