Gerard Aurthur Way

The person I look up to the most is Gerard Way. He has impacted me so much in different ways. Even though I’ve never met him I know he is sweet and caring. The only reason I know that is because he helped organize different organizations. He is also in a band called “My Chemical Romance”. The last reason why I look up to him is because aside from his professional job he has back-up plans.

My hero helped organize many fundraisers, such as a breast cancer organization. You might think, “Why would a man do an organization like this?” Well in his life he had many role models, including his grandmother. She had breast cancer, and for that reason he didn’t want other women and their families to suffer as much as he did with the loss of his grandmother. Since he’s the lead singer of “My Chemical Romance” he and his band do many benefit concerts. His actions have taught me to give back even if you don’t have much to give.

Gerard lives in Hollywood, California. His profession is to sing in a band. I like the fact that he has many back up plans. If his band where ever to break up he could work for a company that makes cartoons. He was going to work for cartoon network but they turned him down, because his cartoon looked too much like one that was already playing on the network. He can just do more organizations or help out other people. So pretty much anything he does will help him out. Or at least keep him busy.

In my eyes, what I’ve observed is that he feels that you shouldn’t care what people think about you. If you want to do some thing just go for it. You never know until you try. And he’s not like one of those people who says one thing and does something else, and doesn't follow their own advice. For example my friend has him as a friend on my space. Well he used to be over weight and he strived to lose the weight. He sent a comment to all the girls that said, ”don’t let any one tell you you're fat or ugly.” “Your pretty in your own way and you’ll grow into your body soon”. So in my eyes he says forget everyone else and just live your life with no worry.

So all in all every thing that I’ve stated in this essay are the reasons why I look up to him: he gives back, he helps others, and helps others do the same.
