Jessica Garvey

by Jenny from Omaha

Jessica Garvey is a very heroic person to me. She shows many qualities, which I think are the building blocks in making a hero. She is a sixteen-year-old junior at Skutt Catholic High School in Omaha, Nebraska. She attended St. Vincent de Paul for elementary school. She is the team captain for the cross country team and runs varsity. She is a first honor student and is on student council, but above all that, she’s my sister!

Jessica is one of my heroes because she is a kind, caring, determined person. She has achieved many of her goals including becoming a varsity captain. She is one of the best runners on the team. She has won a few races. Jessica also runs the 2 mile in track. She usually finishes in the top five for the races. She gives 100% in everything she does. She also encourages people to give their all, too.

My sister has also achieved many goals that don’t deal with sports. She has been a first honor student since 6th grade. She is extremely smart. She plans on attending Creighton University Medical College and wants to become a pediatrician. She loves kids. She is on student council and helps out with school programs.

Some more heroic qualities of my sister are that she’s understanding, kind, and caring. You can always count on her when you’re feeling down to bring you back up again. She’ll sing and dance around you until you smile, and if that doesn’t work, she’ll listen to your problem.

These reasons and so many more are why Jessica Garvey is such a wonderful person. From her team leadership to her cheering up skills, she inspires me. Because of her I want to do my best and be the best person I can be. That’s why she’s my hero!
