Mothers

Mothers. What does the word mean to you? In the dictionary, it's a female parent. But to me, it is much more. It is a life of caring, loving, helpfulness. A life of hectic schedules (yes, we all admit that) and paper cuts, of last-minute Halloween costumes and of nightmares in the middle of the night. I have never been a mother, so how am I to interpret the hugs, and kisses, and smiles that have been given to me 24/7? Well, it all boils down to one word: love.

Mothers are my life's sunshine! The last minute kiss at the bus stop was given by the light of life, the reproducer, the "apple of my eye," queen of coloring books and ruler of time-outs, lover of babysitters and hater of bee stings.

But there are other, non-official mothers: beloved female teachers, older cousins, aunts, whatever. My point is, ANYONE CAN BE A MOTHER! Who do you love, in heart and soul? Who is the apple of YOUR eye? It doesn't matter whether they're related, whether they live halfway across the planet, or whether you have only seen her once in your life.
