A definition of a hero is someone who has gone through something in his or her life. My hero is Ansel Adams. He was a famous black and white photographer. I admire him because he took great pictures. He was also an environmentalist.

Ansel Adams was born in San Francisco on February 20. He grew up there also. He taught himself how to play the piano at a young age. At that time, he displayed how much he learned on his own. He had lots of musical talent.

The first time he took pictures was in Yosemite National Park. His family was on vacation. When he grew up, he decided to be a concert pianist. In Yosemite, he married his wife, Virginia Best. He also had one son named Michael.

The reason why he is my hero is that he took great pictures. Another reason is that his pictures are in black and white which shows even more detail. His pictures also made places famous to other people. After he died, a mountain was named after him.

The reason why I chose Ansel Adams is that he made unknown places known with his pictures. A hero does things that makes you admire them. People choose heroes because of that reason. That is why my hero is Ansel Adams.
