Tyler Klassen

by Matt from Sydney, Canada

Tyler "Super T" Klassen was born in abootsford B.C on Oct. 19, 1981. He is my hero because he is brave, strong and Dedicated. Tyler is a very famous mountain biker since he won the 1st UFC (Ultimate Freeride Challenge) and has started on the 2nd and 3rd seasons of Drop In (a TV show that brings Freeride mountain biking to homes across the country). His dedication throughout the sport has made him my idol and hero.

Super T is brave because he has done some of the most extreme, risky, dangerous and even crazy stunts, but he is not just a fool on a bicycle, he uses his skill and his education to determine how to do those stunts safely and to put on a bit of a show.

Tyler is strong both physically and mentally. He has done some huge stunts that require a lot of physical strength and in the words of Jared Jesperson, a freerider who appeared on Drop In 2 and 3, "...classic Tyler style, he lands almost completely sideways and pulls it off! I don’t know how he does it!" He is strong mentally because it takes a lot of guts to pull off things like Gillard road gap. It's a jump to cross a road. It is about 65-70 ft. across and 25-35 ft. down. It is located in Kelowna B.C)

Tyler has shown dedication throughout his mountain biking career. He entered the first UFC and won, which is hard to do. Tyler does every stunt that he can find and never backs down and when he does it, he pulls it off with a little bit of style.

As a freerider, Tyler has brought many kids into the sport by showing them how fun it can be. He is a great MTB'er and an excellent person. He participates in kid’s camps in B.C to help young freeriders to ride at their best. Tyler Klassen to me is an idol, an excellent role model and most of all, a hero to the sport of Freeride Mountain Biking.
