PreS-Gr 3-Drawings by 16 "guest" artists adorn this colorful, slip-cased frieze, published in support of Share Our Strength and its campaign against world hunger. United by a common theme of people sharing food, the illustrations reflect Rosen's verbal image of "The Greatest Table" as the world's dining room, "where all of us can help ourselves,/and all of us are fed,/and no one has been turned away/with just a crust of bread." From bountiful banquets to solitary feasts, there is something here to engage everyone, be it a family gathering, a waterfront picnic, a bustling cafe, or a schoolroom lunch. As in Home (HarperCollins, 1992), Rosen's previous effort for the organization, artists have donated their works so that all proceeds may benefit hunger-relief efforts in this country and abroad. As books-with-a-mission go, this is as worthy as any, affirming, uplifting, and-unfortunately-always timely.-Marcia Hupp, Mamaroneck Public Library, NY
