Harriet Tubman, a brave soldier who led hundreds of slaves to freedom
My portrait is of Harriet Tubman, a brave soldier who led hundreds of slaves to freedom. I chose to paint her because I was inspired by her never-ending courageousness and perseverance while she led the slaves to freedom even when she herself was a runaway slave. She encountered so much danger and was also under a lot of pressure and possibility of being killed at any given moment, but she persevered during it all. She's changed the world forever and I believe she's a hero not just to the people she freed, but also to mankind as a whole.
