Earvin Effay Johnson, Jr. was born on August 14, 1959 in Lansing Michigan. He is 255 lbs at 48years old and 6 ft 9. He is a retired NBA point guard positioned player that played for the Los Angeles Lakers. NBA is National Basketball Association. He enjoyed success in his NCAA college where he won the title in 1979 with Michigan State University. Some other accomplishments that he had were five NBA championships, played in nine NBA Finals series, and he was elected three times for both NBA Finals Most Valuable Player and NBA Most Valuable Player. Johnson also played in 12 All-Star games and was voted into 10 All-NBA First and Second Teams, and led the league in regular season assists four times.
Johnson missed the first 3 games in the NBA season of 1991-92 with a unspecified stomach ailment. A huge eye dropping announcement was made on November 7, 1991 when Johnson said he was infected with HIV. After that announcement he immediately retired. His condition was discovered when he applied for life insurance. At the moment he tested for HIV and the results were positive. Lakers team doctor Dr. Michael Mellman was the one who HIV tested Johnson. Johnson gave a statement that he was happy his family was HIV negative and that he was going to dedicate his life to preventing HIV with money.
Starbucks and Magic Johnson's company JDC (Johnson Development Corporation) had a partnership agreement in February 1988. They are known as UCO (Urban Coffee Opportunities). The first UCO store was opened on March of 1998 at Ladera Center in south central Los Angeles. They expect to have tons of Starbucks worldwide very soon so that everyone can enjoy the taste of coffee and never sleep.
