Isela

A hero is someone who looks out for people and helps them. A hero is someone who tells us the right or wrong thing to do, like our moms and dads, police officers, doctors, and firefighters. A hero is also a person that inspires us like Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, and Cesar Chavez, who fought for their rights. Like my mom, Isela Mercado.                

My hero does all of these things for me.  She is my mom.  Isela’s grandmother inspired her life by telling her to be a stronger woman than her, and to be grateful for what she has.

Isela feels honored to be called a hero and to hear child who loves her very much. One of Isela’s challenges was being a provider for her family and friends. Isela overcome her challenges by having a strong will. Isela’s accomplishment is being a mother because she wanted to know how it feels to be a loving mother to three kids. Isela’s advice to kids is to live life, laugh, learn from those who harm you, and always forgive. Isela would not change a thing about her life because she has no regrets and has a loving family. My mom inspires me by telling me to do the right thing and to never be a quitter and to accomplish my goals.
