Jackie Chan was born in Hong Kong on April 7th 1954 and his parents named him Chan Kong-sang, which means "Born in Hong Kong". His mother required surgery to deliver him and Jackie weighed 12 pounds at the time. Jackie's parents had steady jobs at the French embassy in Hong Kong. Lee-lee was a housekeeper and Charles was a cook and together, the Chan Family lived on Victoria Peak in Hong Kong

When Jackie was a little kid, his father would wake him up early in the morning and together they would practice kung fu. His brother Charles Chan believed that learning the teachings of kung fu would help him build Jackie's character, his patience, strength, and courage.J ackie was seven years old when Charles took a job as the head cook at the American embassy in Australia.
In my opinion, Jackie Chan had a very tough life but that didn't beat him down. He stood up and made something of his life. He didn't have money and he didn't even know how to read, but he got a job as a stuntmen and worked his way up and before you knew it, he became a star of his first movie "Snake in Eagle's Shadow," followed by "Drunken Master," and he was a hit. He became successful in his life and so many people are inspired by him, and that's why I think he's a hero
