Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is my hero.

Matthew:16:16: "And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God."

Jesus died on the cross to save us all. He died for our sins even while we are yet sinners. He rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven. He brings us promise of new life in the resurrection.

John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Romans:5:8: "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Jesus is now in Heaven seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

Mark:14:62: "And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven."

Mark:16:19: So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, He was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

Jesus Christ's life and death is the basis for our calendar. He was born in Bethlehem and raised in Nazareth. He began His preaching and healing ministry at the age of 30. Jesus spoke in parables. He lived for 33 years on earth. Jesus' Hebrew name is Yeshua. Jesus is the promised and long-awaited Messiah.

Romans:3:29: "Is He the God of the Jews only? Is He not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also."

Jesus gives me hope and strength, knowing that whatever hardships we face in this life, we shall overcome in the next. He gives me promise for a future and promise for a resurrection. Without the Bible and His promises, I could not go on. My faith does not depend on my own good works, but on the fact that His death on the cross pays for the penalty of my sins. Jesus lived and died and rose again to bring hope for eternal life and show us that there is victory over death.

John:3:3: "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

Jesus likened the Kingdom of Heaven to a mustard seed:

Luke:13:19: "It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it."

Matthew:17:20: "...If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you."
