There are a lot of reasons why my mom is my hero. The first reason she is my hero is because she helps me with my homework. She clarifies my math problems and then confirms if I’m right or if I need to correct it. When I have writing homework, my mom helps me by writing while I dictate. She also helps me with some grammar and punctuation. She helps me plan out my writing as well.

A second reason my mom is my hero is because she drives me to school every morning so that I can go to Eagle Zone before school starts. I get to be with some of my friends. She also chauffeurs me to my dad’s house every other weekend. He lives in Pepin, Wisconsin in a farmhouse, and it’s three hours away. We meet at a Hyvee store that’s near the middle of the trip. It’s nice of her because it’s fun to spend time with my dad and her driving lets me do that.

A third reason my mom is my hero is because she comes to my band concerts when she’s able to. My mom is really busy. She’s a special education teacher at the Eden Prairie High School. She gets one hour of free time per day, and she still makes time for my band concerts.

A fourth reason my mom is my hero is because she read books to me when I was little and couldn’t read myself. Now I’m a really good reader and I enjoy books. I think she helped me get there.

A fifth reason she is my hero is because she buys me things like a lot of mobile games, an Xbox system and bluetooth earbuds. She’s spending a lot of money on me. Like my sixth grade math teacher says, “Kids are giant money suckholes,” and he is right. I suck up a lot of my mom’s money.

A final reason my mom is my hero is because she cooks me food, and I don’t know how to cook. She treats me like she’s a nurse when I’m sick, and she is as sweet as honey. She takes me to my orthodontist and doctor appointments. Those are really expensive. I once lost my retainer, but my dentist said I lost it at just the right time because I didn’t need to wear it anymore. That made my mom happy.

These are all the reasons that my mom is my hero.
