124441Kathrine SWITZER IN 1967FRANCE INTERMy heroine is Kathrine SWITZER. She was born on January 5, 1947. She's an American marathon runner, author and television commentator. In 1967, the marathon of Boston was organized with the help of her coach and husband. Kathrine used a pseudo to run this marathon because the marathons were forbidden for women. The rumor says "If a woman runs, her uterus will fall!". Kathrine ran the first 6 kilometers before to be noticed by the organizers. They said, "Get the hell out of our race and give us back your number!" but they did not manage to stop her. Kathrine finished the marathon in 3 hours 21 minutes and 25 seconds.

124446Kathrine SWITZER IN 2017Back bay associationShe is the first woman to run a marathon! She fought for women's rights. Thanks to her, in 1972 women were officially allowed to run the Boston Marathon and in 1984, the first women's marathon was created. Kathrine SWITZER is an veritable heroine for many women because she's very courageous, shows that victory is a product of pain and she followed her heart and she succeeded! She is an example for me because she defends an important cause. I Love the sport and competition and I think it is very important that women are equal to men! If she hadn't run this marathon, maybe I would not be able to do competitions in the sport. This woman is very amazing.
