Lauren Akins, nurse humanitarian by Terin Garrard

Lauren Akins was born on November 8, 1989. She was born and raised in Tennessee. She went to school at Goodpasture with, her future husband, Thomas Rhett. After high school, she went to college at the University of Tennessee. Lauren graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Graduating left Lauren excited to help, so she joined several charity-based organizations ready to put her nursing degree to use. Her work took her to third world countries in need of aid like Haiti, Honduras, Kenya, and Uganda. In Uganda, she found the little girl her and her husband eventually adopted. Now she works with Love One International (helps rescue, rehabilitate, and resettle sick, hungry, and dying children in Uganda) and 147 Million Orphans (provides food,water, shelter, education, and health care to less fortunate children), which are both charity programs. She also has a jewelry line with Emily Dee that is called Lauren Akins X Ladybird line. Any charm necklaces sold the money goes to charity organizations. She also uses Social media to promote and spread the world about the charities and the merchandise from them. She does this so more people will buy the shirts or necklaces and the charities will get money from the sell to help the kids.
