Mario Lemieux

Mario "The Magnificent" Lemieux was born on September 5, 1965, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. From an early age, Mario dominated the game of hockey at every level he played. Mario grew up watching the Montreal Canadian's and admiring Guy Lafleur. Mario's pastime is golf. Mario was first introduced to golf in the summer of 1981 by his agent, Perno. Mario plays in a number of celebrity golf tournaments with such stars as Michael Jordan, who is Mario's golf buddy. In 1993, he married Nathalie Asselin, whom he'd been seeing since his teens. They have three children named Lauren, Stephanie, and Austin. They live in Sewickley, Pittsburgh.

Mario Lemieux is my hero because Mario Lemieux is brave. Mario Lemieux is brave because he fought the battle with cancer and won. Another example of why Mario Lemieux is brave is because he still continued with his hockey career and doing all of his charity work almost immediately after recovering from his treatment.

The second reason why Mario Lemieux is my hero is because Mario Lemieux is caring. He is caring because he is the founder of the Mario Lemieux foundation which has raised millions of dollars for cancer and other important medical research since it was founded in 1993. He is also caring because he is a husband and a father.

Another reason why Mario Lemieux is my hero is because Mario Lemieux is determined, from always striving for greatness in his hockey career, being able to win his battle against cancer, and being determined to raise money for cancer and other important medical research.

I am very proud to say that Mario Lemieux is my hero. From being brave, caring, and determined Mario Lemieux has earned his spot in my mind as a hero.
