Linda speaking at the woman's march https://www.louderwithcrowder.comOn the street people chanting, everyone close together, signs everywhere. A speaker talking about the cause. That is a typical scene for Linda Sarsour. She is an activist for Muslim rights and Islam. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, where she grew up as a Muslim/Arab. Miss Sarsour helped to organize the women’s march which she also spoke at. Sarsour raises money and is a voice for Muslims, women and African American rights. A hero must possess compassion about their cause, inspiration which enables one to make a difference. Linda Sarsour possesses compassion and inspiration.
Linda at a protest https://www.breitbart.comLinda Sarsour inspires many people around the world using her voice and perseverance. Linda speaks her mind and does not hold back or stop just because someone doesn't like her opinion. “I’m not going to limit who I am and how I speak because people are ignorant and racist.” (Davis, Joeff” “ Taking it to the streets” ). She inspires many because she will not let others diminish what she says just because they don’t like it. This role model to many speaks her mind and stands up for what she believes in. In doing so it allows people to know that is not okay to think that a whole community is bad just because of one person's actions. “‘We would never ask any other community to stand up and condemn acts of violence committed by people within their groups’” (Some Muslim Americans). This is inspiring because she is standing up for the Muslim community and letting people know that it is not okay to profile that all Muslims are bad just because of the actions of a few individuals. It is important to understand that if this happened to any other community nothing would happen. So we need to change the way we look at the community. Linda is an inspiration because of all the work she does to educate people.

When one possesses compassion for their cause anything is possible. Linda exudes these traits to the Muslim community by being a voice for them during hard times. “‘It's been a very emotional time for the Muslim community across this country”(Muslim-Led fundraiser). She is a voice for the Muslim community and lets people know that all communities have hard times. She gets the word out that it’s not okay to always assume that violence and terrorism comes with Islam and Muslims. “ So I think it was kind of a light in the darkness for us to be able to tell a different story that does not include us being connected to terrorism, which is kind of the story that you always hear about Muslims and Islam’”(Muslim-Led fundraiser). She is understanding to the fact that most of the time when Muslims are mentioned they are tied to violence. That the media mostly portrays Muslims as being bad. You can see how much compassion Linda has for her community (and other communities) .
Compassion and inspiration are some great characteristic that a hero must have. Linda stands up for the Muslim community and helps convince people not all Muslims are bad. She also is great at addressing problems and finding a solution for them. Using her voice for good is one of her best qualities. She inspires me and others to take a stand for your community and reminds us to not give up or hold back because someone may not agree with you.
