Hero Essay: Lindsey Stirling 

   Just think, you're standing on the stage of AGT (America's Got Talent.) You're in the Semi-Finals and you've just performed your act. The judges are telling you things like, "You're not enough to be a solo act," and," You'll never fill an L.A. stage." This is what Lindsey Stirling had to brave. Lindsey Stirling is a American-Electronic violinist who has inspired many musicians around the world to be themselves and to do what they love. She struggled a lot before becoming a famous musician. She has won many awards and achieved many goals. Lindsey Stirling has many heroic virtues.

She plays electronic/dubstep on a violin! She is also a musician, performance artist, composer, and dancer. Right now, she is on the TV reality show DWTS (Dancing With the Stars.) 

  Lindsey Stirling struggled a lot before becoming a famous musician. She struggled from depression and Anorexia for two years until she sought help from a therapist. She didn't like herself and wanted to be like everyone else. She was always upset and wanted to change herself and thought that she was ugly and worthless. On AGT the judges judged her harshly and said that "She wasn't good enough."  

  Lindsey Stirling has won many awards and achieved many goals. She has won many YouTube awards like the 2013 YouTube Music Response of the Year, 2015 YouTube Music Award, and Shorty Award for Best YouTube Musician. She has also won 2015 and 2017 Billboard Music Award for Top Dance/Electronic Album. The last award that she has won are two Echo Awards for Best Crossover Artist of the Year 2014 and 2015.  

  Lindsey Stirling has many heroic virtues. One heroic virtues of her is her quirkiness. I know this because she isn't afraid to do what she loves and she plays electronic/dubstep on a violin! Another heroic virtue of hers is hers is her determination because if she were to have just given up when she lost AGT then she never would have gotten to where she is now. Her last heroic virtue is her confidence. I know this because she's not afraid to do what she loves and show the world what she's capable of. So, I believe that Lindsey Stirling is a social hero. I believe this because Lindsey Stirling puts herself out there and does what she loves, so she is at risk of social embarrassment. 

Lindsey Stirling taught me to be myself. She is always herself and got to where she is now. Lindsey once said, "By finding the courage to be ourselves, we gain the power to make a difference." I believe that by being herself, by being quirky, by pursuing music she taught many people around the world, including myself, to be themselves and do whatever they want to do in life. This is why Lindsey Stirling is a hero.
