She was born in 1729, and died December 28, 1789. She married the family tutor, William Darragh, when she was still Lydia Barrington. The British held a meeting at Lydia's house, and she listened to their conversation, while she was in a closet. She went to a soldier and told him that George Washington and his troops needed to be ready for an attack at White Marsh, the British were planning on attacking December 4, and she told the soldier on December. Lydia Darragh walked 13 miles to tell that soldier about the planned attack.

Lydia Darragh is my Hero because she showed patriotism and bravery in the Battle of White Marsh
