Have you ever seen someone dunk a basketball from the free throw line? Well, Michael Jordan has in a charity event. Michael Jeffrey Jordan was born on February 17, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York. For high school, he went to Laney in Wilmington, North Carolina. Michael played for the University of North Carolina. He averaged around 17.7 points per game; he had 5.0 rebounds per game. He had an average of 1.8 assists, and he played 101 games in college.

In 1984, Michael Jordan got drafted to the Chicago Bulls. “Magic Johnson said, "There's Michael Jordan and then there is the rest of us." Michael Jordan made 63 points against the Boston Celtics in the playoffs and it was only Michael's second year playing in the NBA. I wish I could score that many points. Michael played 1072 games and his free throw percentage is .835%. Michael has an average of 6.2 rebounds per game, 30.1 points per game, and 5.3 steals per game. He made a total of 32,292 points, 5,633 assists and 6,672 rebounds. .835% is really good for free throw percentage!

Michael Jordan is my hero because he inspires me to play basketball. Also he donates a lot of money to charity like the Boys' and Girls' Clubs of America, Special Olympics, and UNCF/College Fund. He also donates money to other charitable organizations that support families and children. He helps others, not because he has to but because he just wants to help children and families.

You might think that Michael Jordan is selfish because he only cares about winning, but his determination helps inspire others to try their best. Michael inspires me to try my best at basketball. I also think that Michael Jordan is a hero because he donates money to charity.

I think a hero is someone who inspires you and helps others. Michael inspires others to be better at what they do even if it's not playing basketball. Since he was so good at basketball, other people might want to be really good what they do. If more people learned about Michael “Air Jordan” they would never give up. Another reason why he is my hero is because we share the same birthday, February 17th.
