Knowing how hard it is from personal experience as a young girl, she constantly made efforts to help girls around the world get education in order for them to succeed and grow. She has proven to also be very brave. After speaking out against the Pakistani Taliban for trying to take away girls’ rights to school, she became a target for them after they warned her to stop speaking out. However she continued to spread her message. Even after getting shot on her way back from school and having to be rushed to a hospital in the UK, she continued to inform others on girls’ education when she recovered. To me, it shows that she is a persistent person that will stop at nothing to fight for what she believes in. She has been nationally noticed by the United Nations and has won many awards including the Nobel Peace Prize, United Nations Prize in the Field of Human Rights, and more. Malala Yousafzai is my hero because she stands for everything I do, and is a good example of the type of person I want to be.
