Without Mr. Hershey's perseverance, kindness, and curiosity, we would not have all the chocolate choices to choose from today!

In September of 1857, Milton Hershey was born into a loving family. Although his parents, Henry and Fanny, loved him very much they struggled with money. They had to move a lot for jobs. Five years later, Sarena, his sister, was born. When Sarena was five, she caught scarlet fever and died. When Milton was 12, his mother made him quit school to get a job. Milton Hershey was soon to be the greatest chocolateir in history.

He owned the Lancaster Caramel Company, named after the town of Lancaster, PA. In 1893, he started making chocolate, and by 1904 he manufactured the first Hershey bar. He started making Hershey's kisses in 1907. Since 1904, the Hershey's chocolate bar has been one of the the most famous chocolate bars ever.
