According to Rowan, " MIn Yoongi sometimes still raps about his challenging times, but he is now able to use them and channel them into a positive message."
Min Yoongi was born in Daegu, South Korea on March 9, 1993. Although he began as a simple boy from South Korea who fought to make a living, he is now an internationally known member of the band BTS. Before he auditioned to be in this group, however, he was an underground hip-hop rapper and went by the name "Gloss" in his high school years. Because he wanted to make a name for himself, he rapped and produced many tracks to get attention. After auditioning for BigHit Entertainment, he was hired as a producer/trainee. Min was later convinced to join BTS and after several years of hard work and dedication, the band became what it is today. During this time, he struggled with depression and with loving himself. Although Yoongi sometimes still raps about these challenging times, he is now able to use them and channel them into a positive message. On one of the tracks on their album ("Love Yourself: Answer", 2018), Min Yoongi writes, "Loving myself might be harder than loving someone else, let's admit it. The standards I made are more strict for myself." This may seem as though it is negative, but he then says "Now let's forgive ourselves. When winter passes, spring always comes again."
