Martin Luther King, Jr.

My hero is Martin Luther King Jr. His birthday is on January 15, 1929. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia.

His grandmother worked as a cleanung "GIRL" for a wealthy white banker. Martin's father was determined that his family would have a better life. His grandmother, his brother, and a sister called him ML for short, a nickname that stuck throughout his childhood.

When Coretta was expecting their first child, Ydanda, the first of their four children, it was a happy time for the young family.

His worst time was when he was humiliated. It occoured when Martin was 15 and in his final year of high school.

His biggest success was in Montgomery when he had the courage to help thousands of other black people all across the South with protests and boycotts. His biggest challenge we was that he had a "dream, that one day this nation will rise up and live out true meaning of its creed."
