Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

by Al from Waldo

When Martin was a young boy, he asked his mother, "Why can't blacks and whites go to the same schools or even play together?" She replied to him, "I don't know dear. It's complicated."

When Martin was young, he enjoyed many things we do like baseball. He also enjoyed pulling pranks on people. Like one time at piano class he loosened a screw in the piano leg and when his piano teacher sat down he ended up on the ground! Another prank he loved was scaring the neighbors. How he would do this was he would take one of their grandmother's furs and put it on a stick. Then he would stick it out of a bush and wiggle it so it looked like an animal. The neighbors would walk by and scream!

One day Martin said, "Mother dear, I'm going to turn this world upside down!" She believed him and that's exacly what he did.

When Martin was an adult he spoke of blacks' rights and of slavery and how he didn't like it and he wanted it to stop.

One year Martin was assassinated and he was shot. Though he is dead, he is still remembered.
