Margaret Murie is an amazing person. She worked to save the Alaskan wildlife by writing books and teaching children about the wildlife. Listed below are some of the amazing things she did.
Margaret was born in Seattle Washington in 1902. Margaret’s parents were divorced when she was young. After the divorce, her mother married Louis Gillette, an attorney. When Margaret was nine, her stepdad moved to Alaska. After he got settled, the rest of the family moved to Alaska too. Margaret went to school in Alaska and was the first woman to graduate from the University of Alaska. After college she married a man named Olaus and had three boys.
Margaret did not have an easy life. She had to face many obstacles. Due to the fact that Olaus was a biologist, he often had to travel. He was so busy that they had to spend their honeymoon in the wilderness. She also had to raise their kids in the wild, which was very hard. Her life became even more difficult after Olaus died. She was very sad.
Margaret had a lot of great character traits. She was a very kind person. She helped save wildlife by joining an environmental group and making speeches to protect the wildlife. She was also a hard worker. She helped people like her husband with his work and also taught kids about her life and how we should treat wildlife.
Margaret made many contributions in her life. In addition to raising a family, she saved wildlife by making speeches and joining groups that protect animals. She was a great teacher and wrote books about her life. Also, she was very kind because of all of the things she did.
