MY HERO invites you to join the 21st Annual MY HERO International Film Festival, a family-friendly celebration of creativity, courage, and compassion.
All are welcome! Join us in honoring the storytellers who are changing the world, one hero at a time.
This year’s festival will be held virtually on Saturday, January 10th, 2026, at 10:00AM (PST). There is no fee to attend, though donation-based reservations are gratefully accepted. Reservations are required — once you register, you’ll receive the Zoom link(s) to attend.

This Virtual Event will feature inspiring filmmakers and heroes from around the world whose films reflect service, courage, and positive action. During the program, the recipients of MY HERO’s special awards will be introduced, with presentations by leaders whose work has strengthened communities and inspired meaningful change.
Special Award categories include the Relationships First Award, presented by the Foundation for the Contemporary Family, the Best Animation Award, presented by Wacom, the Mattie Stepanek Poetic Film Prize, the People's Choice Award, the Community Heroes Award, and more.
MATTIE STEPANEK POETIC FILM PRIZE
In honor of Mattie Stepanek celebrating heart songs poetry!
The Mattie Stepanek Poetic Film Prize honors filmmakers who craft visual poems to share messages of hope and peace. This award is in memory of Mattie Stepanek, whose heartfelt poetry touched thousands of lives with its messages of love and optimism.
RELATIONSHIPS FIRST AWARD
Sponsored by the Foundation for the Contemporary Family, the Relationships First Award celebrates short films that explore and illuminate the powerful and poignant connections within any type of contemporary family relationship.
BEST ANIMATION AWARD PRESENTED BY WACOM
This award honors exceptional animated films made by students in Middle School, High School, and College. All winners will receive a Wacom tablet!
All winning short films will also be available to stream on the MY HERO Project website beginning December 13th — perfect for sharing with family and friends this holiday season. Many thanks to the Scripps Family Impact Fund for helping to make this happen!
