Teachers Cheikh and Odile met when Cheikh came from Dakar, Senegal to Laguna Beach, Ca. as part of a MY HERO Global Exchange sponsored by U.S. State Department Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs to mentor and train community leaders and educators on ways to use MY HERO media arts resources. Cheikh visited the French Class at Laguna Beach High School and a long time friendship followed. Odile and Cheikh have continued to collaborate with each other and their students. This friendship has given support and meaning to each of them and their community.
