124975Nikola TeslameNikola Tesla was a  Serbian  inventor. He created many inventions like the Tesla Coil and the radio. He was born on July 10, 1856 . His father was a Serbian Orthodox Priest and his mother was an inventor of household appliances. Nikola Tesla lived from  1856 to 1943, and died at the age of 86 years old. Nikola Tesla’s first invention was an AC motor. An AC motor is an electric motor driven  by an alternating current. He also made an invention that was very interesting called the Tesla Coil. The Tesla Coil was a machine that made electricity move faster.

Nikola Tesla is mostly known for being one of the greatest electrical and mechanical engineers in the world. Nikola Tesla created many inventions. The invention that most interested me was the the Tesla coil. The Tesla Coil made electricity move faster. Nikola Tesla  also created modern electricity still used today like remote controls and the vacuum variable capacitor.

Nikola Tesla was awarded four awards. The four awards were the IEEE Edison Medal, the IEEE Nikola Tesla award, the John Scott Legacy Medal, and the Elliott Cresson Medal. Nikola was most famous and awarded most of his awards for his AC motor. Nikola Tesla  also made the Tesla Coil that was very famous at the time and is still used a lot even today!

Nikola Tesla has created ten inventions that changed the world including the AC motor, the remote control, and the wireless telegraph. Nikola Tesla created the AC motor because in 1887 Tesla needed funding for his company.  At the end of the year, he had several patents for AC motor-based inventions. He made the wireless telegraph because he wanted to find a way and invent a machine where you could be a mile away and answer the phone without a wire. The Wireless telegraph was a phone that did not have a wire.

I chose Nikola Tesla because he achieved many things.  He accomplished many things that inspire me to do when I am older.  I would like to study mechanical engineering as a career. Nikola Tesla has invented many things that are still used today. They all took time, energy, and money to do to get exactly right, but he never gave up.
