Omar ibn al- Khattab

Omar ibn-al khattab: sahabi,who lived in the time of the prophet ( peace Be upon him ),differed in the date of his birth and Islam,became a successor to the muslims in 13 ah/634 ad and the first person to be named the prince of believers, died (may god have mercy on him) in the year 23ah/644ad

What made me choose Omar ibn al-Khattab as a hero is that he is a great and successful successor and among the finest qualities that characterized him: courage and support for Islam, right and justice until the messenger of Caesar said about him when he saw him sleeping under a tree ;” you judged with justice and you have gained peace, security, so you slept “The Caliph Omar was interested in the affairs of his flock of any interest was held accountable for his workers and his princes and ask people if one of them had been wronged by one of the princes and was also looking at their need and spend them. The Prophet (peace is upon him): said in its meaning "If after me was a prophet, it was Omar ibn Al Khattab “And also:" God made the truth on the tongue of Omar and his heart

Mets his attribution with the prophet’s attribution in ” ca’ebe“

*The first to expande the prophet mosque  in MADINA .

*He was appointed by his people before Islam to be their ambassador to solve problems in war and other.

*His tomb is located in MEDINA ”SAUDI ARABIA “ next to the  tomb of the prophet , separated by the tomb of Abu Bakr

• Omar was guarding the city from theft with Abd-AL-Rahman bin Auf because of the arrival of a delegation of traders Then he heard the sound of a boy crying, and he turned to the voice and said to his mother: Fear God and do good to your child, and He said the same thing when he heard the sound for the second time, and when he heard the sound of crying for the third time, he said to his mother in distress: Why your son does not calm?
  His mother said in sorrow: I teach him to weaning.

• Omar said in astonishment: Why?
• The mother said: Because Omar does not impose money only for children who have  weaning phase (she does not know that the man is Omar ibn al-Khattab), then he ordered her  not to wean him.
• Then he went out and prayed Fajr and his recitation was not clear from the intensity of the crying. When he finished praying, he said: the misery it’s for Omar, how many children of Muslims he were killed; and he impose the money for every child in Islam .

Achievments of Omar Ibn Alkhattab

The first to:         

*establish a court .

*give money to the poor Crisian and Jews from the. treasury of the Muslim state

*give soldiers fixed salaries. and appointed doctors , translators for the army.

*appointed border guards .

*establish a guest house to receive delegations.

*establish administrative control .

*Allocate land for grazing cattle .

American historien WASHINTON IRVING says of Omar Ibn AL Khattab in his book: MOHAMMED AND HIS SUCCESSORS in the page 281 :

« the whole history of Omar shows him to have been a man of great powers of mind, inflexible  integrity, and rigid justice. He was more, than any one the inspirations of the prophet ; aiding Abu Baker  with his counsels during his brief caliphat (...) »
