Skipper Carrillo has always been known as an inspirational figure around Laguna Beach. He is a middle aged man with a very young spirit. Skipper helps inspire the baseball team by being at almost every game and cheering for our team and he even gets to sit in the dugout. The idea to choose Skipper as my hero came easy, seeing as he has always been able to make anyone smile. A local baseball field in Laguna Beach is even named after Skipper; it’s called the “Skipper Carrillo Field.” Skipper attends Little League games and anytime you see him around town he has his baseball uniform on. This video embraces the true qualities of Skipper Carrillo, which is that most people see him as a mentor in their lives and it’s hard to imagine a Laguna Beach without a Skipper Carrillo. Skipper’s notorious phase “Have a Home Run Day,” serves as a bumper sticker on a majority of Laguna cars.
