Joey is a documentary about an 11 year old boy named Joey Masella, who has a rare degenerative genetic skin disease called Epidermolysis Bellosa. Even though the disease causes severe scarring and deformity making it difficult to walk and move comfortably without causing pain, Joey is an inspiration to friends and family as he continues with the regular life of a teenager attending school and riding his motorized scooter through town. Fun-loving and courageous beyond his years, Joey, along with his supportive and devoted family, prove that where there is love and hope, there is life and that each day of living is a gift.
