On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th Birth Anniversary, I held an interesting tribute to Gandhiji using Origami, the Japanese art of paper folding.
The workshop focused on the Gandhian philosophy of See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil by teaching the participants the Origami of the Three Wise Monkeys, inspired by the creation of Japanese Origami Master, Kunihiko Kasahara. The tribute is now open to all Origami enthusiasts who can upload their creations of the Three Wise Monkeys on social media using the hashtag #OrigamiTributeGandhi150.
Origami, the Japanese art of paper folding, enhances creativity and is a great stress buster, a great way to increase concentration and focus and has a calming influence on people. Participants from all walks of life, from children to professionals to elderly, experienced the fascinating world of Origami and paid tribute to Gandhi by folding the origami three monkeys and taking home the message of peace and tolerance.
