David Ortiz was born September 18th, 1975. He was born in the Dominican Republic. He now plays for the Red Sox. He made his MLB debut on September 2nd, 1997.

He is my hero for many reasons. Mainly because he plays for the Red Sox. Another reason he is my hero is because he lead the Red Sox to a World Series and won. The last reason he is my hero is because he has already hit 53 home runs this season and he is the walk off king.

For all four years that David Ortiz has been a player for the Red Sox, he has been my hero. Over his career, he has hit 230 home runs. He has a .282 batting average over the nine years he has played in the MLB. That is why David Americo Ortiz is my hero.
