https://www.powderhounds.com/USA/Colorado/Wolf-Creek.aspxLast snowboarding and skiing season me, my boyfriend (Josh) and a couple of friends decided we would try to ski/snowboard. The friends that we went with are avid snowbaorders however it was me and boyfriends first time doing any of it. Instead of going to a small ski resort we decided that we would go to the ski resort in Pagosa Springs, CO.
https://hiconsumption.com/best-road-trip-gear/Josh decided he was going to try his luck at snowboarding but I wanted to try skiing because I heard from people that skiing is easier to get the hang of. We rented our gear from a place in New Mexico and made our four hour drive to Pagosa Springs, CO. It was one of the best drives ever, and it was so much fun to have this quality time as it was our first trip to another state together. Excited, we got into our hotel and settled down to have the energy for this long day of skiing tomorrow.
http://techskiandsnowboard.weebly.com/wolf-creek-ski-area.htmlAs I said previously, our friends at the time are avid snowboarders so they would be our instructors. One of our friends stated that the easiest way to learn is if we go onto the largest mountain and we will most likely learn as we made our way down the mountain. This was not a great idea.
https://mpora.com/skiing/23-things-skiers-really-hate-skiing/Josh fell off the ski lift when getting on it, causing a jam of traffic. And at the top of the mountain he fell off the ski lift again. I, however, started off very confident until I realized I did not know how to break or stop myself. I'm going full speed down this mountain trying to figure out how to stop myself. I realize I'm about to go off the edge of this cliff people are screaming, "cross your skis" so I did, when the tripped my and i heard a loud POP! I stayed down for awhile cried and got back up. I did finish skiing cause I didn't want to ruin this trip for anyone else.
https://drsterett.com/sports-medicine-blog/knee-brace-after-acl-surgery-vail-coMy knee swelled so large, so when we finished I decided to go to the urgent care to see what i did to my knee. I couldn't walk on it, it was wobbly and so painful. When diagnosed, it was discovered I tore my MCL and ACL. It was horrible however, it was a great ski trip and we plan to ski again this season!
