Paul Cary was a father of 2 and had 4 grandchildren. He spent 30 years devoted to the Aurora Fire Department when he volunteered as an EMT in New York City. He died April 30th due to complications from COVID-19 and there was a powerful tribute to him on May 3rd. NYC mayor Bill De Blasio called it a powerful story of human devotion. De Blasio also stated that the city will remember and memorialize Cary and his great example of heroism.
