I know you know about Tupac Shakur and his background, but I am going to tell you some other things right now. Tupac was born in East Harlem section of Manhattan in New York City. He was named after Tupac Amaru the second. Tupac was an actor at the age of 12. Later in his acting career he was in the following films "Poetic Justice”, and "Above the Rim" Tupac was dropped from two movies. One was "Higher Learning" and "Menace 2 Society."
His rapping career started in the early 90's. His first album he claims was aimed at problems facing young black faces but it was criticized for its graphic language and images of violence by and against law enforcement. He wrote about social ills facing African Americans, with songs like “The Streetz R Deathrow" and "Last Wordz." Even though Tupac is dead, he still has foundations that are dedicated to what he stood for. In 1997 there was a foundation started by his mother, Afeni Shakur, called Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation. This consisted of the teachings of the following creative writing, vocal technique, acting, stage set design, dance, poetry, and spoken word, and the business of entertainment.
MTV rated Tupac number 2 on their list of greatest MCs of all time. Tupac's mother (Afeni Shakur), Tupac's godparents and father were all in prison while he was growing up. One of the positives while this was happening was he was able to act in acting to show his pain and sadness through his acting. That is what he did when he was 12 yrs. old.
IN 1991 Tupac made and released his first album called "2pacaclypse now." He was also a rapper and I will tell you about that career. In 1992 Vice President Dan Quale says that, "2pacclypse now" has no place in our society. In 1993 Tupac was arrested for ten days for swinging a baseball bat at a local person during the rappers performance. Three months later Tupac starred in a movie called "Poetic Justice" with Janet Jackson. Also in 1993 a 19-year-old woman that Tupac and his friends picked up four days earlier is sodomized and sexually abused by the rapper and friends. Later on Tupac is dropped from the movie he was acting in, "Higher Learning." In March of the next year Tupac is sentenced to 15 days in jail because of punching out director, Allen Huges. Later on tupac is dropped from the movie "Menace 2 Society." Thirteen days later Tupac stars as birdie, a troubled drug dealer in "Above the Rim." The soundtrack included Tupac's song "Pour Out A Little Liquor." Later he sells two million copies of his record that includes this song on it. While Tupac is on trial for sex and weapons, Tupac is shot five times and robbed of $40,000 worth of jewelry. He was an amazing rapper that inspired many people around the world of all ages. His acting career also was very inspiring to many young kids. Everything Tupac did he put his mind to and accomplished no matter what the optical that was put in front of him. He made several albums that sold millions of dollars and attracted millions of fans.
The reason Tupac Amaur Shakur Is important tome is that he proved even though you might not have a parent or parents at all, you can still make something of yourself. His story is when he was little, he provided for him and his family because this dad was in jail and his mother was a cocaine addict. Even though this happened, he still provided for the family by himself. Even though he had to do all this, he still made it. He is an Icon for me is because my Dad comes and goes and I help do what he should be doing. A cool thing for me is that my Dad meet Tupac after one of his concerts and they talked for a while inside of Tupac's bodyguards. Tupac talked about lives struggles and hard times he talked about in his songs and that is the coolest thing for me because he sends messages to everyone, and proves that you don't have to curse to get your point across. In his songs are sent about things like how he made it and if you believe in yourself you can do it too. Now with all I've said, I dedicate this all to Tupac Amaur Shakur!!!!!!!!!
