Einstein once said, “When a bug crawls on a sphere, it doesn’t realize that its path is curved. But I had the honor of noticing!” Albert was born on March 14, 1879. When Albert was in school, he became ill and stayed home for weeks, while playing with a compass his father gave him. He was fascinated by how the needle moved without any visible force. This inspired him in math, science, and physics. This small inspiration also turned Albert into a hero.

Albert was a mathematician, but a hero as well. He managed to overcome depression during the years when his mother and father moved away for work for two years. He struggled in school, since his dad died, but in about four years, he made a successful achievement. During World War I, his wife Mileva started to dislike him, and after the war ended, she took all her sons and divorced Albert. In school, he had no boy friends, only girls. The teachers always treated him like he knew nothing, except his science teacher and his math teacher. He supported a peace movement in the 1950s, and was almost arrested for doing so, but kept supporting it. This is why I think that Albert was a hero.

Although Albert was a hero, he wasn't when he was starting school. Albert entered elementary school in 1888, when he was nine years old. Albert of course had an early interest in math. He always wanted to be a physiologist. He was schooled in Germany. His parents thought that babies should start talking around four. He never said a word, or even a peep. He never even cried! But one day, his parents showed him his new sister, Maya. He seemed to study her for a while, and at the age of four, he said, “I was expecting a toy vehicle. If this is a toy, where are the wheels?” Later, his family asked him, “Why didn’t you speak before?” He calmly answered that what was the point of talking if you didn’t know grammar or what anything meant? In school, Albert was struggling because he had multiple learning difficulties in every subject except math and science. In classes, Albert had no boys to depend on, but all the girls liked him. In 1897, he started studding physics and math in the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland. He became Swiss in 1901, and later his dad died of heart disease in 1902. He married Mileva Maric which was three years older than him in 1903. This was Albert’s early life.

Later in his life, Einstein lived through even more hardships. He couldn’t pass his college exam, so the college made special adjustments for Albert. At that time, something called the “Holocaust” was going on, when Hitler had been taking Jewish people and cruelly torturing them or more likely killing them, so Albert desperately moved to the United States of America. He was still with his mother which had no money. Finally, he had two sons in 1904 and 1910. The second son Eduard had Mental Illness in school. In 1914, World War One started and Mileva wanted to leave Einstein, and after the war ended, she later divorced him in the year of 1919. One of Einstein’s biggest problems was time. He knew that the Theory of General Relativity couldn’t be proved until there was solar eclipse. In 1920, Albert’s mother had gotten cancer, and died soon after. Even though Einstein moved to America to get away from Hitler, he went on a voyage in December 1932 and when he returned home, he saw the Nazis had ransacked his home, and confiscated his property` and boat. Additionally, they had taken away his job in Berlin. In 1948, Albert’s heart disease had gotten worse. As you can see, Albert had many challenges.

Einstein did and gave many things to us. One of those things was the “photoelectric effect” . When you shine a light on a metal plate, the beam bounces off, as so do the electrons. When the light shines, it is considered a beam, but when it bounces of anything, it is just electrons. Einstein also showed how to measure the size of molecules. The “Brownian motion” was also Einstein’s, as he figured out, that the molecules in a drop of water must be zipping around fast, so that is what makes the water flow, and he called this the “Brownian motion”. One more thing that he discovered was E = mc squared. This means, that to find the energy of an object (E), you have to multiply the mass (M), by the speed of light (C) squared. In 1905, Einstein had published four papers on his discoveries. Albert had given us many things and contributions.

Einstein received many awards. The Nobel Prize in Physics is awarded once a year to a person with outstanding discoveries in physics. His first Nobel Prize was in Physics, in 1919. He had gotten a Nobel Prize, almost every year through 1921. Einstein also won different awards; including the Gold medal Award, which is the highest honor awarded for highest achievement in a non-military field, and the Copley Medal award; an award given by the Royal Society of London for outstanding achievements in research in any branch of science.

Albert had many different personalities and traits. Einstein was a very sunny person. When Mileva divorced him, he stayed in a positive attitude. He always loved playing with his kids and his family. Math had always kept him going, but he really needed his family. He also enjoyed life, and spent his time wisely. Equally, he made the best of everything. When people said that there is an award for $50,000 on his head, Einstein exclaimed, “Wow! I never knew that my head was worth so much!” Albert was mostly smart. Not just smart, but genius. He was the one who discovered multiple theories like, the “theory of general relativity”, the “theory of special recognition”, and so on! Last but not least, Albert was usually shy. Making new friends for him was hard, and even the teachers never liked him, let alone the students! He was never first in anything, also last to speak up. He was scared of al the teachers, except his math teacher, that always felt that Einstein was special. Einstein had many different traits.

As you can see, Albert was a unique and extraordinary man. Unfortunately, he died in Princeton Hospital, in 1955 on April 18 and was later burned, but his brain, his eyeballs, and his amazing discoveries stay with us today.
