Mr. Heiney has been an inspiration to many that pass through the 8th grade halls of Shelby Middle School. This is the story of this amazing teacher’s life and how he got to our school. Many have questioned the life styles and work ethics of this great human being, so I decided to dig deeper. In the process I made a friend…

Then during his senior year at Central there was a new program called Teacher Perceiver. He failed miserably, and graduated without a teaching degree. Then he went to Concordia College in Ann Arbor. There he got his teaching degree along with his history degree from Central. Then he went back to Big Rapids and did his student teaching. He started to have doubts about being a teacher. He finished the class anyway but didn’t know what to do with his life. Then he started to substitute, and started to love teaching again. He started subbing for a school called Evart a little north of Big Rapids. Then he did long term subbing. Then they offered him a job. After Teaching for several years his sister offered him a job down in Las Vegas, were she was an apartment manager, so he took it.

So he went to Vegas to manage apartments. Then he went back to Michigan where he went job hunting and on the last day of school got the job at Shelby. And during his first year was terrible for him and planned on quitting that summer and almost quit. But something turned him around and has been teaching for several years now.

I will note that he has done Voice Acting for Dawn of War mods. These include The Steel Legion and Inqusetion Deamon Hunt mods. I would like to thank Mr. Scott Heiney for taking the time to let me interview him. Thank you Mr. Heiney.
