Hun Sen

When one is talking about a hero it often means a person who has done something big to help the country or the world. People pray to them and keep them in their mind for what they have done. Sometimes these people are activists, religious leaders or politicians. Hun Sen should be recognized as a hero of Cambodia and all Cambodian people should keep him in their minds and hearts because of his honour, integrity, bravery, and his diplomacy.

Hun Sen is a man of his word; he tries to do what he syas he will do. In 1975 Cambodia was taken over by the Khmer Rouge. The Khmer Rouge government killed many Cambodian people who did not follow their direction. During this time he is escaped to Vietnam to ask for help from Vietnamese government. Hun Sen came back with the power to defeat the Khmer Rouge. Everything he did was for his country and the Cambodian people. He spent his whole life to help all Cambodian people to have a better life today. He is changing this country from a poor and torn war country to become peaceful and our economy is growing every day. Before the national election in 1998 he promised all Cambodian people that if he won the election he would build schools, hospitals, roads, electricity system, water system for farming and provide access to clean water. After he won the election he started implementing all the promises that he made, but Cambodia is still a poor country. He can’t do all of this at the same time, but he is starting to build step by step. Hun Sen is a man who does what he has promised.

Hun Sen is a courageous person. He is not afraid of people or countries that have more power than him. During the Khmer Rouge he aimed to rid the country of the Khmer Rouge and he escaped to Vietnam and to ask for help from the Vietnamese government. If the Khmer Rouge knew that he aimed to get rid of them they would have killed him. Then he came back with power and defeated the whole Khmer Rouge government. In another example in July 7, 2008 the Preah Vihear Temple of Cambodia became part of the UNESCO world heritage centre. Thailand knew that if they took over the temple they could have lots of benefits and they tryied to invade that temple. Hun Sen was not afraid of Thailand. He sent his soldiers to protect our land and he didn’t allow any countries to invade our land even one milimeter. Hun Sen is a strong man and he isn’t afraid of any one.

In addition, Hun Sen makes good connections with people, countries and organizations around the world. Under his leader ship he helped Cambodia to become the 10th member of (ASEAN) Association of South East Asian Nations. He brought Preah Vihear temple of Cambodia to join the UNESCO World Heritage Centre. He carryied out the “win win policy” to help Khmer Rouge and government to reach agreements for peace, and end the Khmer Rouge threat and unify Cambodia. Hun Sen is diplomatic person whs makes a very good international connection.

All Cambodian people should recognize Hun Sen as a hero and keep him in their mind and hearts forever to honour him for what he had done. He is a really important person in my life and my family life. My father keeps him as a second father because he makes the economy grow everyday and our business is improving so we can have a better life. Another important thing is that he saved my father from the Khmer Rouge. My father was nearly killed by Khmer Rouge, but he was lucky because at that time Hun Sen's soldier came and they shot the Khmer Rouge soldiers, so they didn’t have a chance to kill my father. There are so many kinds of heroes. Hun Sen he is a person who spend his whole life to help people and bring to our a country change.
