My grandpa is my hero because he makes me feel glad to be around him. I want to be just like him when I grow up. He teaches me stuff that I need to learn. He also likes to do fun things with me all the time.

My grandpa was born on January 14,1954 in Water Town, New York. He had joined the army when my mom was five years old. My grandpa has lived in five different states. Today he lives in Ashland,Ohio. He works as a geologist professor at Ashland University. He likes to teach his students all about rocks and minerals.

My grandpa's favorite hobby is boating. When he has spare time he likes to work with his tools. He also likes to teach mineralogy and likes to take his students up to our cottage in the summer to look at our rocks by the diving board.

When he is at Ashland University he likes to work with other geologists. He is a teacher because he likes to pass on knowledge. The reason why he became a geologist is because he likes to do mathematics, likes to be outdoors and is in interested in chemistry. That's what a geologist does. When we go to the beach he likes to make big sand castles. This is my hero and the things they do in life.
