Philip Esposito was working in his office with his roommate Louis Allen. They were about to play a game of cards in the room. They were unexpected that the night before Alberto Martinez, a fellow member of his squad placed a claymore mine in his office window. Seconds after they had hopped in bed it was set off and he died instantly.
Philip Esposito was a war hero he had saved the life of other and defended his country well and proud. He thought of going home to see his 18 month old baby girl Madeline. He is mourned by his loved ones and his wife. He never got to see his daughter again but if she looks up she knows he is watching her from heaven. He was my uncle and he defended me in many ways like from the monsters under my bed. I thought because of that he was so brave and no one could be more of a hero.
It took everyone a while to grow up and realize that he is more than a man who gets rid of monster. But a man with great courage and honor. He died defending his country and gave an oath to protect us no matter the cost and that is what he died doing so. I have mourned his loss because instead of being happy on my birthday I cry because it his his birthday too and to be so young at the age of thirty to die such a horrid death that he is not only brave but a man who has no fear to make a mistake.
My Uncle Phillip made an impact on me because I now know that it's okay to cry because everyone is human. I also know that everyone is a hero no matter if you are a civilian or if you are the president. I now no matter what I do I will follow in this hero's footsteps.
