“The woman who is my best friend, my teacher, my everything: Mom.” - Sandra Vischer. A hero is a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. Everyone has their own hero and what a hero is in their eyes, whether it is a family member, celebrity, or just some random person that did something memorable. My mom is my hero, my idol, model figure and everything. She is someone who has been there through the highs and lows. I think of my mom as a hero because she is someone who has shown me love and guidance, and has always been there for me. Firstly, she has seen everything throughout my life. Secondly, she has been there through every tough decision. Thirdly, she is my mother and has done everything in her life for me to be where I am today.
To me a hero is someone who is brave, supportive, courageous and just a loving person. I don't know where I would be in my life if it wasn't for my mom. She has taught me right and wrongs, dos and don'ts, and has been through ups and downs. Mom has cheered me on through every volleyball to dance competition, whether it was by letting out tears or screaming loud in the stands. I’m not sure I have made it through one dance season without having her watch me dance and cry. Whether I was just practicing at home or on stage, there wasn't a time that she didn't cry because how proud she was of me. That's one of the many reasons she is my hero, because I believe that a hero is a loving person and someone who can make you feel all those happy emotions. She has also shown how much she cares about me by taking care of me when I'm sick and bringing me soup, or just taking us kids for a trip around the world to explore new environments. Overall, my mom is someone who shows she cares and supports me in many ways.
Trip to DisneyDisneylandSecondly, some background on my mom. I grew up with my mom Sally Goldade, my dad, and 2 siblings, in a little town we have lived our whole life named Prelate. While growing up we went camping every year and just went on adventures to new places. Throughout all the adventures my mom has been there to be in mama bear mode when something bad happens or I get hurt, and to also push me to try new things. For example, when we went to Disneyland, I got really sick and couldn't leave the hotel room for 2 days of our trip. But my mom stayed with me the whole time and missed many rides because she didn't want to leave me or worry about me, even though I am quite old enough to be left on my own. Mom would give anything up for us from losing sleep to making sure we get home safe, or giving up her piece of pie when there are only four but five people to eat because she all of a sudden “never did care for pie.”
Thirdly, my mom has been there since day one when I was conceived. She has dealt with all my disasters and has seen me grow up making mistakes. She's also seen all the mistakes and trouble I've gotten into. But yet she still loves me and stays close to me. Through all the baby steps I've taken in my life so far, my mom has been by my side supporting me. Now she is supporting me in my future steps and career. She always makes sure I know how important school is and how much it can affect me and that it is the stepping stone to my future. When focusing on school after high school, she is making sure I volunteer and gets me opportunities for having experience in future careers. She told me to never give up and to always push for more of myself, and so far everything has been looking good.

In conclusion, when I think of a hero to me I think of my mom. She has been someone who sticks by my side no matter what happens and someone I know won't leave. My mom is the type of person to focus on other people and sacrifice small or big things for other people. When trying to make a hard decision she has been the one to give me advice or stand behind my decision. Lastly, I don't know what I would do without someone like my mom and I appreciate all she has done and how she has made me the person I am today.
