Seth Rogen started as a comedian in Vancouver, British Columbia, usually performing in clubs and parties. He won the Vancouver Amateur Comedy Contest when he was 16 years old. The first time he started acting was in Donnie Darko with a minor part in 2001. He later starred in 40-Year-Old Virgin in 2005. That's the time when he started getting more famous and recognition for his hard work. He typically stars in comedic films, but usually for adults only, due to his dark humor. He also does star in kids movies for his voice acting in the "Kung Fu Panda" series as Master Mantis. The first film he directed was This Is The End in 2013 but he also acted in that movie.
His directing is very significant because he is very versatile and can do both acting and directing at the same time which is very amazing to see. His film style is unique because it is very average but he has his own style of having simple filmmaking, which makes it different. Most of his movies are funny but also professional. His role is to not only act but to also give the direction to the actors on what to do and to make the story happen how it's supposed to happen. The films he is usually in or directing has a very relatable type of story, and the way he executes his stunts and acting is very unique. Due to his style of directing, he won Best Comedy Director for This Is The End in 2013.
I chose this director because I have seen the movies in which he directed and acted in them. He is very funny in general and his stories and gags are very different from other comedic movies. He impacted me personally by being a very funny person. I never really enjoy movies unless they're comedies. But most of the time, comedy movies are really not that good. But Seth Rogen made comedy movies very special. In my opinion, he is one of the best actors/directors/voice actors of all time. No one would ever match in his level.
