A rough start in life doesn't always mean it has to be rough right to the end.
My definition of a hero is someone who made it through many different obstacles to get to where they are now and someone who inspires someone else. A hero is someone who has achieved things for themselves. Also a hero can be someone who is close to you and you know personally or it can be someone who is well known by many people. My hero is Shelly Morin, my mom. She’s my hero because she's always here for me no matter what and she's always willing to help me. My mom and I are very close. When she knows i’m upset she tries her best to bring up my mood. Also if I did something wrong she would always tell me it's alright and that it'll be okay. She is my inspiration.
It all started when Shelly came into this world. She was raised by both her parents in Martintown, Ontario. Shelly was born with a heart condition that she never really knew she had, she just had a feeling. She has one younger brother and one older sister. Shelly is married. My mom is Canadian and she works at Walmart logistics as an order filler. It's nothing special or all that interesting but at least it's something to support her family. She's hardworking and always wanting to do what's right. She is a brave respectful woman with a big caring heart.
My mom had many obstacles she had to overcome during her life. Her biggest obstacle was losing a parent in 2007. He was her father, Alexander. His death was devastating for her because he had died three times. It might not seem possible but it is. They had a bond that couldn't be replaced. He had done so much for her. It was like without him our family would fall apart. After a few months, she accepted his death and that he's in a better place now. Every once and a while she has her moments, just stops and thinks about him, sometimes it brings tears to her eyes. She misses him very much. Another obstacle was having a child at 15. Even though she had the support she needed from her parents it was still tough. Her parents helped her through it because they love her and care for her so much. My mom has learned so much from that obstacle and has learned more from her parents and how to raise a child. She wanted the best for her kids and didn't want to let them down.
Shelly has accomplished and achieved many things. One of them was becoming the best mother she could possibly be to her kids. She achieved by being the best mother she can be because she always wanted her kids to be happy and not to let them down. She would do whatever she had to, to make sure they were happy. She always went a step further then she needed. If I was ever behind on school work she would help me in any way she could so I would succeed. Some days she would stay home from work and take care of me while I'm sick even if there was a slight chance she would get sick too. Shelly always put her kids first, they are her number one. Another one of her accomplishments is having a family because she raised her kids to know that they are good and caring people. Also, she succeeded pretty well at raising her kids because she never gave up on them and always gave them what they needed and even more, she spoiled her kids.
She has always been there for me, even through the tough moments. She had her obstacles and her accomplishments and has many more to go. She would always say “A rough start in life doesn't always mean it has to be rough right to the end.” She had a rough start, it still gets a little rocky but in the end it'll be alright because she has her family. And one day, I hope to be as great as she is.
